The One About Mentorship and Snow

If you have not heard the East Coast, more specifically, The South is experiencing Snowpocalypse 2014 (yes this picture is real, not something from a disaster movie). I haven’t had class in days and I am suffering from a bit of cabin fever, as are my residents. Rather than sit around and be unproductive for the entire time off I started watching TED Talks.

One in particular jumped out at me. It was by Phil Counsineau and he talked about how the mark of successful people is at one point having a mentor and then after making their place becoming a mentor for those behind you. I recently, took time to make very over due Thank-you notes for some of my mentors and the talk stuck with me. I have always had an issue with asking for help and not knowing how to receive help but the older I get and the more I learn, I’ve realized I don’t know anyone who has gone it alone.
